Delhi Police relax restrictions on Anna Hazare fast

Delhi Police on Wednesday virtually withdrew the pre-conditions for Anna Hazare to fast and have granted permission for holding it in Ramlila Maidan.

Delhi Police agreed to relax six of the 22 conditions for Team Anna to hold his indefinite fast against the government version of the Lokpal Bill

While, the police have offered Team Anna seven days extendable limit for protest at the Ramlila Maidan, they have put some restrictions on the number of protesters at the ground, which has been kept up to Ramlila Maidan's capacity. Cars have been kept up to the limit that traffic is under control.

There will also be a team of doctors from both sides which will be continuously conduct medical examinations and tents inside the ground will be allowed.

The choice of Ramlila Maidan as an alternative venue was taken as it was bigger than the Jai Prakash Narain Park where Hazare proposed to sit on an indefinite fast.

Anna, who is in the Tihar Jail, has refused to leave the jail unless he is allowed to continue with his indefinite fast, and the pre-conditions are withdrawn.
